Our plain-language promise
Pregnancy and parenting information can be deeply personal. Egspect does not sell health data, journal entries, photos, or family information. We use information to provide the service, keep it secure, and improve it within the choices you make.
This launch policy is a product baseline, not a substitute for legal advice. It must be reviewed for each market before public launch.
Information we collect
We collect account details such as name, email, profile image, locale, time zone, and authentication records. When you use family features, we may store stage, estimated dates, family membership, appointments, logs, journal entries, photos, and milestones that you choose to add.
Pregnancy, symptom, mood, feeding, sleep, growth, and related logs may be sensitive health information. We label these fields accordingly in our systems and avoid putting their free-text contents into analytics.
How we use information
- Provide, personalize, and secure your account and family space.
- Calculate relevant timelines and show information for your chosen stage.
- Deliver emails you request, including sign-in links and future family reminders.
- Understand product usage using bounded events that exclude symptom text, journal bodies, health notes, and photos.
- Meet legal obligations and prevent abuse.
What family members can see
Each member has a separate account. Information marked as shared belongs to the family space and can be seen by current family members. Private journal entries remain visible only to their author. Before adding another member, confirm that you trust them with shared information.
Removing a member stops future access. Some actions they took in a shared history may remain so the family record stays coherent; data-rights flows will explain this before deletion.
Service providers
We use carefully selected processors to run Egspect: PostgreSQL and our hosting provider for application data, Auth.js for account access, Resend for transactional email, Stripe when paid membership launches, and PostHog for consent-aware product analytics.
These providers process data under their own security and privacy commitments. We send them only what is needed for their function.
Retention and security
We retain account and family data while your account is active and for a limited period after deletion when needed for security, disputes, or legal obligations. Backups expire on a controlled schedule. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as readable text.
No system is perfectly secure. We use access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege service access, and audit-oriented records to reduce risk.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, export, restriction, or deletion. You can also withdraw optional analytics or marketing consent. Family-sharing effects will be explained before a deletion is completed.

Children and parents
Egspect accounts are for adults. Parents and guardians may store information about their baby for their own care organization. Egspect is not directed to children and children should not create accounts.
